The story behind:

Sorley and Alfonso Guevara, a couple who back in 1980 with their 7 children, managed to get "Las Margaritas" farm off the ground through field work. They named the farm "Las Margaritas" because the abundance of daisy flowers in the region.

Later, Las Margaritas farm was rented in 2012 by William and Yudith, a couple from Popayan, Colombia who moved to Quindio seeking to initiate a life together. Time has passed and now they have their most precious treasure: Sara Sofía. Yet today, William and Yudith continue to grow one of the best Excelso Colombian Coffee in order to provide a better future for their girl.

Faithful to traditional cultivation techniques, the hard work is carried out by coffee-growing families like this one. These people collect manually the grains and put them in the sun to dry. It is Important to mention that all the organic waste from the farm becomes as the fertilizer that feeds the coffee plantations.

Today, Las Margaritas works with more than 10 families in the region improving their coffee processes, generating sinergies, creating job oportunities and hence a promoting a better future for the community.

When buying this coffee you support empowered Women from the “Paisaje, Mujer y Café Association" who work daily in agricultural tasks, cultivating high quality grains from responsible work and having the earth as a reference of wealth and abundance.
